To say this book was a five star would be a crime this one is so unique and impressive that I HAD to give an extra star! This book is from my favorite publisher the IMMORTAL WORKS and I’ve been picking up their books from 2020, now I’m OBSESSED!
The story is a love story in a sci-fi land setup and the book is just AMAZING from its detailed descriptions to it’s impeccable lines that will make you SWOON and fall in love is just oh so special! Let me hit you with a quote to add to the element of intrigue!
💙….. “If you love somebody, you go back to them. You always find a way to go back to them.”💙
Piper Parish is the Princess of Capalon, sets on a mission to find her mother who taught her to sing in secret. Piper has a beautiful voice but Capalonians don’t sing it’s frowned upon actually, the only thing valued by the Capalonians is their knowledge and their marriage depends on intellectual genes and scores. It’s gonna be hard to escape Capalon even though she’s a princess, she has to plot and plan to get her mother again! When she does escape she is seeking an opportunity to get into the palace of Mondaria and she does find an opportunity and grabs to be one of the Kings 100 but she finds something else along the way. Will she be able to find her mother before the Mondarians find out that she’s a Capalonian and what happens if they find out that she’s a princess!? It’s a race against time to find her mother and get her back to Capalon!
A book that’s written so well that I can’t recommend it enough for you to read it! The characters are impeccably constructed with cute flaws that you’ll fall in love, cry with them and feel for them! I loved how the story progressed and had a steady plot and theme till the end, the friendship element is built up so beautifully, the romance is so cute and the way the book ends just has me wanting to go and pester the author for the next book! Can’t wait to read more from the author!!
🍁Serpent and Dove was an interesting book and I’ve wanted to read it ever since I joined Bookstagram family and I had teamed up with a few booksta buddies to do a buddy read thank you @breys for giving the push that I needed and I’m thankful for that because this was such an amazing read 💙
🍁This book had a different take on witches and though it took time to get to know the characters and some of my friends even said that it started like a second book in a series I didn’t find it hard but it did take time getting used to the idea of witches according to this book I’m not a fantasy lover okay let’s say not so much but I do read it sometimes anyway this book sucked me in within a few chapters and it was written so well that I started reading the next once I informed my buddies who are starting it too!!
There’s a war raging between Witches and the Churches for so long and Cesarine hides it’s witches well though there are Constabulary and Chasseurs roaming the streets Lou has fled from her past and has been living in Cesarine for two years with Cosette aka Coco. Lou is notorious and a trouble maker, she dresses up like a man to avoid trouble and doesn’t use magic and to hide she needs Angelica’s ring and would do anything to get it. Reid has been brought up in the church and always abides by the law in fact Lou calls him Chass every chance she gets 😂 he is the captain of the Chasseurs which isn’t liked by his friend but they tolerate each other because of the Archbishop……. Okay that’s it read to find out more because this book is worth the hours you put into it trust me this book is awesome 😍
Also means @lira always say that there aren’t many books based on strong friendship but this book proved us wrong because Lou and Coco’s friendship are goals 💙 Lou is a strong female character and Coco is the rational part of her brain 😉 and I loved the way Lou and Reid didn’t connect but somehow worked well they weren’t predictable and their silent moments are sweet watch out for them they are relationship goals 💙 and Ansel…..ah Ansel was such a vital character to the book he’s the one who connects the dots and keeps Reid from ripping Lou’s throat out 😂
Okay that’s all I’ll let you go and buy your book now because this book was so twisty with its plots you can never predict it and you all know I love unpredictable things 💙
Favorite Quote: “You’re bribing me,” I accused. Her expression was serious. “Is it working?” “A little.” I plucked the keys from her hand.
Genre: Contemporary Young Adult
Rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for the cover 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟for the content 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for winning my heart
I love this book and if the ratings didn’t give you a clue then I’m gonna tell you why! I love enemies to lovers when done well but this book was IT!! It topped all of my favorites ever, I loved the way the author had portrayed Frances’ character, the way she is looked and the way she is her own person and everything about her to be honest. Coming to Jesse I was like what’s not to love! We all start to hate him while reading Frances’ POV but when we come to his part does the juicy details come to light! I love the way the author has used many themes in the book like young love, relationship with family, mother’s love, father’s love, friendship that matters, Sonny’s uniqueness which the group easily accept (I love love love love love love love love love love love loved it)
This is the first book that I’ve read from the author and I can see that I’m already hooked to her writing. The book has two person’s POV which makes the book easier to read and easier to love, I love RomComs and this one is just like good food for the soul it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside and still changes you from inside out and the way you look at things (a different perspective to be precise)
The plot was amazing and without loopholes, the writing style will be easy to read for even a new reader and that’s one of the best characters a great book should have, the storyline was consistent and the themes the author wanted to get through to the reader reaches out through the pages to us(readers), and the characters were so lovable except Ms.Weary I don’t think you’ll love her. I can see myself getting addicted to the author she’ll be getting mails and texts from a forever fan from now on *giggles…. *continues to giggle maniacally
If you haven’t read her books you really SHOULD because the author has a way of charming the reader (oh no that’s not the right word the right word I’m looking for is enchanted… No no that’s not it it’s entranced)… Let me rephrase entrancing the reader and make them realize what they were missing in life!!
Anyway let me get back to reviewing…
Carina is a selective mute, (and yes its a thing so look it up before reading) she’s fun and caring. She lives with her Avô who loves her so much, they both have lost special someone’s to a tragedy and their relationship is stronger than ever. Rina is a free spirit and literally a breath of fresh air and a sassy Queen you’ll love and at times relate to. Myles… Oh Myles Myles Myles, the perfect fictional boyfriend that you’ll simply fall in love from the first page! Also he’s a construction worker (company’s co-owner but still…) so think of all those muscles…. Sh blisssssss. Anyway he zings with Rina and so does she and they live happily ever after? Oh or will they not get their HEA because someone refuses to let her go!
First of all you guys should know I’m obsessed anything Sana writes hut this book with its Bridgerton and ACOTAR reference lines are just SLOW BURN at its finest! I love how she’s used humor to diffuse ticking time bomb situations and sassy as heck personality to top it all off! I can’t believe she made me dislike a character so much! I mean the character did turn around but my heart did not!
Overall the book is an amazing read that you should pick up on this Sizzling Summer! The characters are flawed and perfectly relatable, the plot is chefs kiss and the writing style is uniquely SANA KHATRI. Totally worth all of the stars in my rating!!
Meet Zaira who’s- “She was the finest type of loony, that woman.” (Gallan)
Meet Gallan Underwood who’s- “He awakened me like the moon did the stars; he grounded me like the sky did the storm.” (Zaira)
Okay to be honest this was a beautiful rom-com with just the right hint of emotional element and had me all swoony and moony(I know both aren’t real words but hey I’m a writer I can whip up words too (yes I am quoting Zaira again))
Hot and dashing Gallan Underwood is the Hollywood heartthrob what he doesn’t do is date easily, his last date in fact was four years ago, he’s not looking for love and suddenly tumbles in Zaira into his life (figuratively and literally) dedicating a graphic novel to him! He hates rats and that’s what sparks the fire, but he didn’t know all it took was a a closed shutter to put out the fire.
Zaira the cute nerd with glasses slipping down her nose is such a cutie wait I already said that didn’t I but IDC she’s cute 🤷♀️ anyways moving on, she’s also a bad ass who doesn’t give two fishes of what anyone says about her and also she has a mouth that has no filter 🤭 I’m warning you if you think she’s a soft spoken lady then you’re in for the surprise of a lifetime 🤣 shes so outspoken and open-minded I loved her so my she’s someone every woman wants to be!
The writing was really good as you should all know by now that I’m reading Sana’s third book and loving every book boyfriend she bestows on me and I wasn’t susceptible to his(Gallan’s) charms either, the way Sana builds her character is beautiful✨ also I loved the way the story’s plotline took me! It was heartbreaking and raw and no doubt took me on a emotional rollercoaster ride!
An author who writes fiction with a pinch of reality💙
“Let’s do it, then; let’s pretend,” he said. “Let’s pretend that our lives aren’t smothering us or keeping us apart. Let’s pretend that we are the rulers of our destinies, and not the slaves. Let’s pretend that we are all that matters in this moment, in this time.”
I am estatic to say that I was an ARC reader for CWP and to read it before everyone else was special thanks Sana for giving me the opportunity to review it💙
It all starts in one dreadful but unforgettable day on Vera’s life that changes her life forever but what she ran from five years ago is the only thing that can keep her sane now! Will she risk her heart once again to a man that’s unavailable or should she run from it like she did five years ago!!!
So this book is one of the amazing SLOW BURNS I’ve ever read!!Vera is amazing she’s this innocent girl but a spitfire and a sassy lady and I love my female characters a little bossy like that and Wane oh boy you’re gonna fall in love with him in the first few pages and I’m gonna tell you a secret that he’s replacing TCE’s Kenneth now 🤭 and is holding court for second favorite book boyfriend!!!
The story is about Vera who has PCOS, she wants to own a flower shop of her own one day and she’s saving up for it. Even though her parents encourage her they are worried for her that she’s constantly flitting from jobs, but hey they’re parents they’ll worry no matter what.
Wane Jackson*(dreamy sigh(sorry I can’t say his name without doing that)) he fell in love twice the same night and he chose Melissa and life seems to be okay for him, But life is determined that he should have Vera in his life. So now it’s a second chance but they’re gonna pretend things that happened long back hasn’t, it’s hard yeah but when you already have a life you can’t add in extra perfection can you.
As I said in my review on TCE Sana talks about real life stuff so if you aren’t accustomed to reality then this isn’t for you 🤷♀️ it’s a slow burn but steamy and I promise you’ll feel suffocated with love and wanna literally cry and laugh with the characters. One thing all of Sana’s characters have is the ability to relate with them, it’s easy to connect with her book and fit into the shoes of the MC. I laughed at certain places quite literally it was so funny at parts I literally had to bite my cheek to not laugh out loud because I didn’t wanna wake anyone up at night 🤭 anyway you can find it on kindle and get your copy on Amazon as a paperback too 💙 It’s an easy read you can finish it within 6-8 hours or so even if you take breaks in between!💙
🍁Some people liked to look at the negative, instead of finding every possible shred of positive they could easily look for if they really tried.🍁
Amara Rogers is a makeup artist and can do wonders with her wand but what he sees and what she sees is different isn’t it. She sees her past mocking the present and the future, he sees her for the beauty that she is!
What I loved about Amara and Kenneth was that they were unpredictable human beings because come on who lives predictable lives 🤷♀️. Her support system is strong yet fragile, she has trust issues because no one has ever kept it, apart from Connor and a few friends.
Their love story struggles a lot he’s running out of chance encounters and though she knows everyone makes mistakes she can’t help compare to the bad incidents she’s faced already. The scenes were so raw and emotional, what Amara faces in her daily life is painful but as Kenneth said if only people would look at the positive beneath the layers.
I’ve quoted a gazillion lines on my kindle 😂 because the dialogues were pure brilliance and for Sana to write about a few of her own experiences made it all the more close to my heart. The writing style is unique yet understandable to non native English readers too and also once more kudos to the dialogue it wasn’t fictional at laa it was like watching things in real life! And the book cover is so cute and even though I’m not a pink lover I loved this book so much 💙 it warmed my blue heart so much 😉 (only people who reads this book will understand) Also Kenneth will now be placed as another best bookish boyfriend next to Edward Cullen 😘
I give this book a guaranteed 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁/5 (6/5)
Start it as your next read and you won’t be disappointed! But if you’re a baddie who bodyshames people and tries to bring others down just so you can feel better sorry sweetie this book isn’t for you *(insert fake chuckle)
**”It’s not your responsibility to save people. If God wants them he’ll take them.”
“Then why didn’t he take me?” I exploded.”**
Jamielynn Baker had an accident back in Illinos and walked off from the massive accident with only a few scrapes and got superpowers! sounds cool right but when the star quarterback gets killed in the accident and not her makes her friends not so friendly she has to relocate because of the angry townsfolk.Ryan Miller after he is supercharged from her super kiss tries to be her friend -preferably her boyfriend- and he is a decent guy so what’s the problem? She fears that she might fry him when they kiss or even when she holds his hand – yeah literally sparks fly in their relationship. But when Ryan is hated for being her friend by the whole school she can’t take it and the infamous stalkerazzi Carter re-enters her life claiming he wants to just help……..let’s say there are not only sparks flying. But people whom we think are innocent and good and caring aren’t always what they seem and not everyone whom we hate are bad people necessarily are they?
I fell in love with this book and found a soul sister through this book and my life’s been light ever since thanks for being a wonderful friend @liranaomi 💙 and this month is her birthday so we’re rereading all of Kelly Oram’s books just because her favourite character’s birthday is on this month too. 📚Happy Reading📚
Foxians are emotionless creatures and Kokab isn’t any different, in their planet everyone wants to be PERFECT which means perfect obedience but she’s an ALMOST but she’s the one who is chosen to come to earth to form an alliance or start a war! She is so focused and dedicated on her mission that she’d obey everything to become a PERFECT, she submits her perfect body to be turned into a human….
Carter doesn’t believe in aliens at least he doesn’t after his father claimed that there were aliens on live Television. He’s been bullied for a long time and now that he’s tall and strong enough to defend himself history repeats itself in the form of Kokab. Carter is suspicious but doesn’t want to believe what’s right before his eyes! Only Anna helps him piece together all the suspicions that are going through his mind but he doesn’t want it to be true because what if history repeats itself.
The book was so complicating and unpredictable (which is what I crave in every book as you all know) and so cute with its sweet romance with an alien who hasn’t experienced emotions AT-ALL!
The fact that Kokab can’t feel emotions because she’s a Foxian was so good it’s a kind of plot that we wouldn’t expect and totally new to me! I loved how the author portrayed Kokab’s character and Els was something else!!
So let me list out why you have to buy this book RIGHT NOW!
It has a love triangle going on Second chance romance and Friends to lovers in the same book Alien invasion Intergalactic Wars Writing style is really good Relatable characterization Unique plot twists LOOK AT THE BEAUTIFUL COVER AND TELL ME WHY NOT!!
Rating🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5(the sixth star is for being so perfect!)
If there was ever a perfect sequel to a book then it is for FAKE NORA! I wanted more ever since I read FAKE NORA and the way the author left me hanging , and miracle of miracles she decided to write BAD ONES! So I’m pretty much on cloud nine over this book you MUST READ this book Or you’ll never know what you lost in life!
Anyway back to my review….
Fake Nora showed us to be weary of antique sales and reflections but Bad ones shows that no matter what you do one can never escape from being sucked into REFLECTION-LAND because fake Nora is always behind it! Or will we come to know who fake Nora actually is?
James is new to the era of mobile phones and computers but he’s learning fast amidst living in his sisters house who now legit looks like his grandma… So there’s that… XD Anyways he can still see the reflection that is evil and not even covering mirrors is gonna work this time and it looks like it’s only a matter of time before the fake overtakes reality again! Will Nora and James escape it’s clutches this time?
Read to find out about Fake Nora, Fake James and the bad ones!!
Perfectly written middle grade horror, I love the portrayal of the mirror entity and how it has the ability to creep us out! The characterization is amazing and easy to relate to, the plot is solid and doesn’t waver from its main theme, the plot twists all are tied up at the end and there’s not a thread untied, the writing style is uniquely Kelly yet understandable to all ages, written in an intriguing style and the pace of the book will suck you into the book and you can only come up for air in between it’s THAT good!
